Borealis

J’ai malheureusement été un peu déçu des photographies d’aurores boréales que j’ai pu prendre. J’ai finalement sélectionné cette image, sans paysage ; l’appareil photo et le trépied étaient pointés vers le ciel uniquement. Je ne garde donc que le côté abstrait et minimal, ainsi que je pourrais le faire en peinture. Le format sur Instagram réduit la résolution de l’image : on ne voit pas les milliers d’étoiles qui apparaissent sur la photographie en taille réelle… plus que ce que l’œil peut discerner.

Borealis. Blattnicksele, Sweden, February 2023

I’m a bit disappointed by the pictures of norther lights I made during my recent trip to Sweden. I’ve however selected this image that doesn’t show the landscape. My camera and tripod were directed only at the sky. I’m keeping the minimal and abstract impression I felt. This is something I would normally do when painting. The downscaling of the image on Instagram make the thousands of stars disappear. We can see them on the picture in its full size. This is even more precise than what the human eye can see!
